The selection of works focuses on the pictorial reworking of the concept of meat.
The representations shown below are the culmination of developed research paths by some of the artists participating in the first year of the Prize. All artists included in catalog have carried out intimate research over time on the expression of their own feel through the flesh, representing its microscopic image, deforming it, contextualising or schematizing it. Extremely different sensibilities have given life to heterogeneous paths, driven not by conceptualizations or intellectual elaborations but by intimate expressive needs.
The flesh is the means through which we perceive ourselves within the sensitive world and the sensible world itself. Our presence in space and time is closely linked to the flesh, as well as the perception we have of ourselves and our image.
